Playing Policies

The safety of Members, visitors and staff at La Moye Golf Club is paramount and each individual is responsible for strictly complying with the following: 

• When you are playing golf ensure that no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by the club, the ball or any stones, pebbles, twigs or the like when you make a stroke or practice swing.

• Wait until players, or other people, in front are out of range. Players should always alert greenkeeping staff nearby or ahead when they are about to make a stroke that might endanger them. If greenkeeping staff are working on or around the green with the flagstick removed then players must wait until it has been replaced before playing to the green.

• If your ball is heading in a direction where there is a danger of it hitting someone, shout a warning immediately. The traditional word of warning is "fore".

• On hearing the shout of "fore" please ensure you protect yourself by adopting the crouch position and covering your head with your arms. Make yourself a smaller target and protect your head at all times.

If you have an accident or there is an incident on the golf course, in the clubhouse or surrounding areas then please notify the office.

For the sake of clarity, an incident is something that happens on the course where no one was injured but it was potentially dangerous or caused damage to property. An accident is when something occurs that results in an injury, irrespective of how small. 

Buggy Policies

All buggy users are required to read and sign our buggy safety policy in advance of being permitted to use a buggy on the course.

Adverse Weather Conditions

In the event of lightning or in thick fog a warning klaxon will sound, at which point all players are immediately required to mark the position of their ball and return to the clubhouse. Further details are contained in the  Suspension of Play Policy.
